Required documents
Prepare these before you begin the online application.
Identification
- A valid Gambian national identification document: a National ID card or a passport
- Other approved identification documents, where they apply
Academic documents
- Your admission letter or attestation letter
- Your WASSCE results, or the equivalent, if you are a new student
- Your academic transcript, if you are a continuing student
- Evidence of satisfactory academic progress, if you are a continuing student
Character
- A valid Certificate of Character
Address
- Proof of address: a utility bill, or the Google coordinates of where you live
Financial information
- Information and supporting evidence about your financial circumstances
- Employment information and income documents, if you have a job
Guarantor information
- Information and supporting documents for both your primary and your secondary guarantor
What your guarantors have to provide
Each of your two guarantors provides the same four things.
- Valid identification
- Proof of address: a utility bill, or the Google coordinates of where they live
- Proof of employment or income, where it applies
- A bank statement or a mobile money statement
Everything you send has to be true
You are responsible for making sure that all the information and documents you submit are accurate, complete and genuine.
Submitting false, fraudulent or misleading documents or information can have your application rejected, and can have you blacklisted from student loans under the Scheme, under the SRLS rules and procedures that apply. Being blacklisted means SRLS will not lend to you.
