Eligibility criteria

For the first cycle, you have to meet all nine of these.

Citizenship
You are a Gambian citizen.
Age
You are 18 or older.
Admission to an eligible institution
You are admitted to an accredited bachelor's degree programme at one of the four participating public universities.
Academic requirements
You meet the minimum academic requirements set by the university admitting you. If you are already studying, you have to show satisfactory academic progress with an up to date transcript.
Financial need
You need financial support to study. SRLS will ask you for information about your financial circumstances.
Good character
You hold a valid Certificate of Character.
Proof of address
You can show where you live.
Employment and income declaration
If you have a job, you have to declare your employment and what you earn.
Guarantors
You have to provide both a primary and a secondary guarantor. Go through what that means with them before you submit your application.

Eligibility is not approval

Meeting the eligibility criteria does not automatically mean you will get a loan. Eligibility decides whether your application can be considered.

Every application is still subject to verification, assessment, the resources available, the requirements of your institution and your programme, and the SRLS policies and procedures that apply.
