What is the Students Revolving Loan Scheme?
SRLS is a national student financing institution, established to provide sustainable financial support to eligible students pursuing higher and tertiary education.
Are the loans interest-free?
Yes. The loans in the first application cycle are interest-free.
Who can apply?
For the first cycle: Gambian citizens aged 18 or above who are admitted to an eligible bachelor's degree programme at one of the four participating public universities, and who meet the other requirements.
Does being eligible guarantee a loan?
No. Eligibility allows your application to be considered. Every application goes through verification and assessment before a financing decision is made.
When do applications open?
Applications open on 15 September 2026.
When do applications close?
Applications close on 30 September 2026.
How do I apply?
Applications are submitted online, through the SRLS Loan Management System.
Do I need guarantors?
Yes. Every applicant has to provide both a primary and a secondary guarantor.
When do I start repaying?
You have a one-year grace period after graduation before repayment begins.
